Rhythm Speech CuesRhythm is defined as - notes of varying lengths are grouped together to form patterns.
We have already spoken about rhythm and how it is important, the previous pages highlight how rhythm and by extension music is all around us. Our everyday routine is rhythmic. As music students you need to recognise that music is beyond just playing an instrument. We must be able to hear a song and be able to use that as an inspiration to compose; from the sound of a washing machine, the whistling of a bird, to the quiet sound of insects, crickets at night. We must be able to hear the music in all of these.
